Westcon expanded using the most modern technology available. It was among the first to
introduce the concept of quality-controlled paver production for residential and commercial applications in the United States and Canada. PAVERS: Concrete pavers possess a number of advantages over earlier forms of segmental paving. First, in contrast to alternative forms of paving such as brick, they can be consistently mass produced to high dimensional and strength tolerances. Secondly, by virtue of their shapes, they are designed to be laid either by hand or by machine using relatively unskilled labor and simple construction equipment. These attributes mean that the disadvantages of the traditional forms of segmental paving are largely overcome. Moreover, segmental concrete pavement offers advantages over conventional flexible and rigid pavements in several areas which are of interest to specifiers. Pavers have many advantages, including resistance to freeze-thaw cycles, ease of maintenance and repair, access to utilities, low maintenance and the wide variety of shapes and colors that allow not only a functional but aesthetically pleasing pavement. Manor Square™ - is chosen for it's exciting range of design possibilities. Essex - is a simple rectangle with a gently chamfered edge. Holland™ - is the preferred alternative to clay brick laying and is suited to a variety of laying patterns. Cobble - has the classic look of an octagon combined with a square. Lockpave - the unique geometric shape with proven engineering superiority make this paver the first choice for all heavy duty applications. Hydra-Prest Slabs - are well suited to roof or deck installations. Turfstone™ - is designed with 49% open area which allows ground cover to grow while still providing the necessary structural strength for any traffic including occasion-ally used parking areas or fire and emergency roads.
